Homes for Sale on Casey Key in Nokomis Florida

Casey Key is located on the Gulf of Mexico in Sarasota County. It’s a barrier island to Nokomis and Osprey Florida with its southern most point at the North Jetty Park stretching up to North Casey Key which is now actually connected by a narrow strip of beach to Siesta Key’s southern most point. At one time, Midnight Pass separated Casey Key from Siesta Key, but in 1983 the pass was closed to protect two homes that had been experiencing beach erosion. The closing of Midnight Pass has been a local topic of controversy ever since. I remember when it was open and have fond memories of sailing through Midnight Pass with my dad in our sailboat.
One of the best things about Casey Key, in my opinion, is that it hasn’t been commercialized for the most part. There’s a small strip of vacation rentals that run just north of Nokomis Public Beach for a few blocks. Other than that small section, Casey Key is made up primarily of residential homes. Many of the homes on Casey Key are what you might even call mansions or compounds. They are magnificent!!! See for yourself – check out the homes for sale on Casey Key…
